Assistant Tax Manager

Job Description

We are proud to be supporting a Global Provider of Water and Waste Management services in finding a new Assistant Tax Manager to join their Team.  Working 3 days a week office near Weston Super Mare and 2 days a week from home if desired.

Full time, Permanent position paying a package of up to £63,000 per annum, including a 10% annual bonus, car allowance & more. 

The Role 

As an Assistant Tax Manager, you will join a dynamic and motivated team of 7, covering direct, indirect and employment taxes. 

Reporting directly to the Tax Manager, you will oversee the work of the Assistant Tax Accountant and will be responsible for providing encouragement, training, and support.

With support from the Tax Manager, you will be take responsibility for the UK corporation tax and accounting for approximately 45 entities within the business.

Whilst corporate tax will be your main focus, you will also be expected to develop your knowledge and experience in indirect tax matters, assisting more senior members of the department in the review of indirect tax returns and providing ad-hoc advice.

Requirements

As an Assistant Tax Manager, you will have: 

• A strong academic background, with the ability to understand and interpret complex accounting standards / tax legislation.
• You will preferably be ACA qualified (or equivalent), with 2 years experience working within a tax department.
• You will be computer literate, have excellent excel skills, and have the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• A strong desire to learn and embrace all areas of taxation
